Singapore is an attractive tourist destination the whole year as it is full of attractions, but if you want to point out a certain period, the best time to visit Singapore is from December to June regarding the weather. And how about the rest of the year? What is the weather in Singapore month by month?

The best season to visit Singapore is between December and June.

Singapore is located very close to the equator which ensures year-round warm weather. However, the airconditioned places (including shopping centers, food courts, cinemas, and the MRT system) make you wear at least a sweater or light long trousers.

You have to be prepared that it may rain any time of the day during the wet season in Singapore, but it doesn’t mean that for sure will rain all the time. The wettest months of the year in Singapore fall between November and January.

You may have perfect weather, but remember, the dry season doesn’t mean it won’t rain at all. The best weather and the best time to travel to Singapore generally fall between February and April – in the middle of the dry season.

January is the month of the Northeast Monsoon and is very wet.

Highlights in January: in about every third year, Chinese New Year falls at the end of January.

Similarly to February, March is one of the best months of the year to travel to Singapore. The weather is quite dry and sunny.

April continues to be hot and the rain is less heavy, but thunderstorms are more frequent.

May

Similar to the previous two months, heat and humidity are quite similar. you should expect heat & humidity into the month of May.

The biggest change in weather comes with the start of the fire season in nearby Sumatra. Singapore can be covered by smoke and haze from the fires. if you have pre-existing respiratory problems, avoid visiting Singapore in May.

June

Another monsoon arrives in the area: the Southwest Monsoon. June still offers pleasant weather, but thunderstorms are more and more frequent, and the haze from Sumatra might still affect the country.

Like during May, the fires from Sumatra can create an unpleasant lingering haze over Singapore.

Highlights of June: Great Singapore Sale, the Singapore Food Festival, and the Dragon Boat Festival. Do not miss them!

August

August has again higher rainfall and the Sumatran fires still have a haze risk.

As with much of the year in Singapore, bursts of thunderstorms are common in August.

Highlights of August: Singapore’s National Day when the whole country celebrates the city state’s independence. It falls on 9 August. Wear something red and make sure you don’t miss the parade in Marina Bay!

October

Although October is technically between monsoon seasons, there is even more rain than in September. The temperature is high as almost always and you can expect heavy thunderstorms.

November

The best time for festivals and celebrations are January and February (Chinese New Year).
